Apply to the Inspired Teaching School
To apply to the Inspired Teaching Demonstration Public Charter School, please complete the application below. The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School will begin accepting applications for the 2012-2013 school year on November 7, 2011. The enrollment lottery will be held on Thursday April 12, 2012. Application must be received by Saturday March 31, 2012 in order to participate in the lottery. Applications received after Saturday March 31, 2012 deadline will be placed on the bottom of the waiting list in the order in which they were received.
The Application Process
By law, all DC Public Charter Schools must hold an enrollment lottery if the number of applications received on or before the deadline (Saturday March 31, 2012) exceeds the number of available spaces. Only applicants who have submitted applications by the deadline (Saturday March 31, 2012) are eligible to participate in the lottery. The lottery is a random selection of applications through a blind drawing of numbers from a container until the numbers in the container have been exhausted.
The Inspired Teaching Charter School will continue to accept applications after the lottery. Applications that are received after the lottery date of Saturday March 31, 2012 will be offered any remaining available spaces or placed on the waitlist in order of application submission date.
Siblings of enrolled students and members of the founding family group receive a preference in their admission to the Inspired Teaching Demonstration Charter School.
On Friday April 13, 2012, accepted families will be provided the Inspired Teaching Demonstration School’s 2012-2013 Enrollment Packet. The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School 2012-2013 Enrollment Packet is due back to the School by Friday April 20, 2012. Enrollment is only complete when all the registration materials have been received and DC residency is confirmed. Please pay close attention to all deadlines.
The families that have not been accepted enrollment on Friday April 20, 2012 will be placed on the waitlist. The waitlist will be published on the Inspired Teaching Demonstration Public Charter School Website.
The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School will hold several Information Sessions and Open Houses leading up to the application deadline. As a policy, The Inspired Teaching Demonstration School does not give school tours to prospective parents outside of these dates without extenuating circumstances.
