“Voices of our Village” – between 5:00 pm and 6:00 pm, families are invited to join us in courageous conversations around equity and diversity. (2nd Floor Commons)
“Art Creation” – every student in the building will be invited to contribute to a Black Lives Matter art project that will be displayed in the Commons.
“Trayvon Martin Memorial Day” - On what would have been Trayvon Martin’s 24th birthday, ITDS students are invited to wear hoodies as a sign of solidarity and respect, signifying the beginning of the #BlackLivesMatter movement.
“School-wide read aloud” – ITDS has secured copies of “I Have the Right to Be a Child” by Alain Serres for each classroom. During the day, each classroom will host a read-aloud of the book, customizing student interaction with the book in the most developmentally appropriate manner for that age group.

“Gallery Walk” - classes are invited to visit the schoolwide art display in the commons.
“Spoken Word/Poetry Share” - Students will be invited to submit original work to share with the community around the topics of diversity, inclusion, and the Black Lives Matter Movement.
