PARCC Scores Indicate Growth

This is the 11th consecutive year public charter school students have shown steady improvement on the citywide assessment, first on the DC-CAS and more recently, the PARCC exam. ITDS was recognized as among the top performers in the city outpacing both DCPS and the charter sector.

We’re pleased to share that ITDS continues to demonstrate growth in English Language Arts and Math. These scores are a testament that our model for teaching and learning is working, combining academic rigor and joyful engagement, and believing in our students. This is great news, and we must stay the course, attending to the needs of every child and investing in our students so they are ready for the challenges of the 21st century in high school and beyond.

Among our achievements on this year’s test, math student scores increased by 11.5% and ELA scores went up by 7.3%, making ITDS the 4th most improved school in the charter sector with increases more than twice the rate of overall state (DC) improvements. Over the past three years, ITDS has seen consistent gains, including a notable increase in the number of students who exceed expectations by obtaining a score of a 5.
